    Re: Spiderwire Mono (igs65)

I've never used it for my main line but I've used the super mono for my leaders on my Carolina rigs for several years now without a problem!

Signs by Crazy Elvis, Official Decals of TeamFATBOY!
I called my stockbroker and asked him what I should be buying.
He said, \"Canned goods and ammunition\".

    Re: Spiderwire Mono (zx210)

THE WORST STUFF I HAVE EVER USED. IT COST ME ABOUT $15 IN 3 SPINNER BAITS THAT COME OFF IN MID CAST. They were freshly tied knots. I wrote the company a letter explaining the event and i never heard back. never again!

I use only Yo-Zuri hybrid now and it is great! except for 2 reels, i have stren braid on.

    Re: Spiderwire Mono (igs65)

I decided to try the super mono this year and broke off during a tournament in March. I have heard others say that the line is weak in cold weather. I will never put it on another reel of mine. Every time I try to replace Trilene XT I end up right back with old reliable. I have grown fond of the Spiderwire Fusion for spinning tackle. I still keep one spinning reel in the boat for skipping docks.

Same thing here. Had line break of on hook set and in mid cast. Lost two lures (pop -r) and spinnerbait. Will never use again worst line I have ever tried.

I agree. Worst line ever bought. Avoid like the plague, unless you want to donate some good lure to your local fishing hole, and leave all of your fish in the water.

I think P.E.T.A. makes the stuff for spiderwire.

    Re: Spiderwire Mono (nosaj2)

I actually like the 20 lb test Spiderwire SuperMono I had....great handling, and worked great for buzzbaits
Don't know how abrasion resistant it is, but for topwater it works fine

    Re: Spiderwire Mono (igs65)

Tried my first Spiderwire Mono tonight at a lake with lots of moss.
Freshly spooled 10 lb test and tied a Trilene knot that has never failed.
As I slowly moved my tube across the moss it exploded!
Never got to even feel the fish as the mono broke and I lost hook and all!!
    Line broke off at hook!!
I never should have doubted you guys!!!
Never again! Trashed the whole spool! What a worthless product!

    Re: Spiderwire Mono (Orv)

What's funny is that I was so mad that I wrote the company a letter letting them know how much money their $10 spool of line cost me in lures. I never got a reply.

    Re: Spiderwire Mono (igs65)

Its thinner than Trilene for the same lb test, and it doesn't stretch as much, making
it ideal for hooksets and feel, and it casts good, but in tight bends,
(LIKE TYING ON A HOOK) it BREAKS!!!
Not a very desireable trait in fishing line!!

    Re: Spiderwire Mono (igs65)

Emailed them, as follows, to see it there was an explanation:

    COMMENTS:
Recently purchased your Spiderwire Mono xxx
Liked the fact that it is thinner than normal.
Liked the fact that doesn\'t stretch as much making it more sensitive and easier hooksets.
But it breaks off at the knot!!! Talked to other folks who had same results. Is there an explanation for this or am I using the wrong knot? I always tie a Trilene knot and have never had this problem before using the mono xxx!

I used Ande for years. It is good stuff, I am not sure why I changed. Just had to try something new I guess. I have paid alot more but I can't say that I've found what I think is a better line.
