When you are dealing with people, you are also dealing with all parts of their body. Many times, they act like their rectum.

Were you there? Did you see what happened or are you making assumptions?

What does angler of the year titles have to do with endangering people? I just got back from my 8th trip to head waters and I completely believe what he posted. Roland will run all over you, been that way for as long as I have been around him. He did something similar at Kenansville about 6 years ago while we were there to a guy fishing with his younger son, Roland almost got his teeth knocked out and knew it. He's an arrogant jerk most times, don't care what he has won or who he is.

The canal Roland was in is 6 to 10 foot deep. He was doing what he does every day there, trying to pass anyone that might be heading to "his spot".

You already posted you have never been there, I have, a lot and the story this person shared is exactly what I have witnessed myself. Not sure why you are trying to prove we're all liars or this is a made up story......Roland is that you maybe?

Oh, an it is illegal to pass on that canal, period, no matter how many angler of the year titles you have!

Illegal to pass on a canal? That is the first I have heard of that, if he hit bottom with his boat the he was obviously trying to get into a much shallower area than 6-10 feet. Like I said you only hear about it because it is Roland Martin it's called envy and it's not a good trait to have, it it was some unknown person we would never be hearing about it.

Bassfisher 444, please just stay in Ohio. Roland told me to move out of his spot on Lake Okeechobee because he had a show to film. I told him to pound sand, he got mad and tried to dirty up the water when he left, this was back in the 80s.

Why hold a grudge for something that happened 40 years ago?

I'm not holding a grudge I'm just telling you the man has always thought he was more important than anybody else.

It is an ongoing problem with Martin. I guess it will take somebody getting hurt or damaging their boat for some people to see that he and others like him are doing g something wrong. People who disregard the safety of other people have no business being on the water.

Maybe come visit the lake and learn the rules before you argue about it. There are several laws particular to this lake, it also has a speed limit of 25mph....and it's a law, they will ticket you for violating either. Also maybe read the original post better, he stated he was passed then roland turned into one of the cut offs into the main lake from the canal then ran aground (probably on the corner of the entrance). You sound like a fan boy who can't accept that your hero is an *******. No envy here, I don't care what the dude does but when I am fishing with my son and you let off pad where I am casting and inform me I am in your spot and you're a guide making a living it proves my point of being an *******. Come take a vacation to headwaters and let Roland run all over you like he owns the place then lets see how you feel.

Also, an unknown person would not have their boat wrapped with their name printed on the side of it! lol

Maybe he had to be on plane to get to where he was trying to go and knew he didn't have room to get off of plane and get back on plane to get in there so he tried to pass the boat quick enough so he could be far enough ahead when he had to make his turn that he wouldn't be cutting him off or the other boat would be in the way. Do you ever go above the speed limit on the road to pass someone so you can make a lane change to get to where you are going? Same concept here, he has been operating boats longer than many of us have even been alive so he has some experience. Some people are just grumpy and will complain about anything.

What part of "No Passing Allowed in the Canal" do you have a hard time understanding? I mean if it is against the rules to pass in this canal, people that want to be first to a spot can disregard the rules? Seems pretty simple to understand to me. It's just like people.who overpower their boats and wonder why the insurance company won't pay if they have an accident.

Sounds like Mr Martin thinks he owns the water in Florida. It seems to be a trait down there among many on BBC not wanting us Yankees to even travel to Florida.

LOL this has got to be Roland! The canal is 50' wide, not safe to overtake a boat ever on that canal. Once you've been there and pull your head out of Roland's rear you would understand.

50' wide? That's plenty of room to pass.

Even if it is 100ft wide it doesn't matter if it is illegal. Plain English,,, ILLEGAL, against the law. Are you beginning to comprehend the meaning of illegal? You are nothing but a troll anyway, but it's fun to read your twisted threads....LOL

Was recently in a local tackle shop. Some of the old time locals, all in their 70s, overheard them talking about Roland. Not a kind word heard. Have hard the rumors, etc. but never the firsthand accounts.
