    Finally some luck Today

After fishing a local pond for the last couple of weekends I finally had some action today. I have been throwing everything in the tackle box at these fish and nothing doing, not even a hit.

Today I started out by throwing a Bandit Flat Maxx (Threadfin Shad) and was (not purposely) snagging shad on both hooks, finally found the bait. I must of snagged 30-40 of those things in about 3 hours. Not 1 Bass or Pickeral.

No big Deal, just change to something slower and slow WAY down. So I tie on a new Hookerz Tackle Shakey Head with a White Trick Work. start throwing that for about an hour, dragging it swimming it, hopping it. Got ALOT of hits, no Takers. This is a GREAT jig head by the way for Alabama rigging, not one twist in the line from this.

I tie on a Rapala X-Rap XR10 (Hot Steel) first cast got a 2# Largie, not much to brag about, but it's the FIRST fish this year. Had 3 more fish hit the darn thing and not take it. I would just sweep about 10-12" at a time and after the sweep give it a sharp twitch and let it sit for about 5-10 sec and they would come up and smack it.

Now for my question, the water temps here are probably in the high 30's MAYBE low 40's. Largemouth were breaking the surface after the shad all over the place, is this normal or did just run into somehting unusual out there today? I have NEVER seen that before in my life.

Lastly Thank You Jason from Hookerz Tackle for the New Shakey Heads, they work GREAT and I am sure that in a couple weeks I will be posting about how mush luck I've had with them. For those of you that have not seen them here they are. If this doesn't work I will post the link for the page.

The heads are powder coated so the paint lasts a long time even when working through Rip Rap. They come in 1/16, 1/8, and 1/4.

Mike, glad to see you did good on our Shakey Heads. We have been swamped with orders nationwide with this product, and its easy to see that it will probably be one of our biggest sellers this season. We shipped out over 1500 packs last week alone and our fingers are raw from assembly!!! LOL. I told you that you would not get the line twist, that the normal rig puts out. Again, thanks for the praises, and send us a pic of the first lunker you hang on that hook. Later bud.

No problem bud, I need some more packs of them, I have been giving out sample to friends and family and have no more left. I say about 3 packs of each size. Wait for shipment until you have the rest of my order ready ( you know what I am talking about ). I will also take 3 packs of them when you get a chance to make them.

Mike, thanks for posting the Hookerz Shakey Head pics. These have become our hottest sellers as of late, and we are working hard to ensure much backstock to fill the abundance of orders which have been pouring in. We pour, paint and assemble each one by hand which is very time consuming. A complete list of this hooks assets are available on our site for all to read. Thanks again, and tight lines to all.
