    NoCo gen5 3bank problem

Guys I have a brand new gen 5 3 bank charger.
The first 2 times I used the charger it worked perfectly, now when I plug the charger in, the power lights come on and the immediately causes a breaker to trip in the garage shutting the charger down.
I've checked all fuses on the charger, all good.
Customer support said try a different extension cord, tried 2 others and same results.
    Any thoughts?

Pull it and get your credit on it and go buy a MK unit. I just went off on another thread about the terrible customer service.

I'm starting to lean that way.
I finally got a response from CS. They sent me warranty return information, I have to pay to ship it to them, they will then decide if the charger is defective and either send me a replacement or my original charger back. This process will take up to 3 weeks and on my dime!!

Exactly RH. I went round and round with them on this. Chris is the CS Supervisor. I finally told him I am done. I'm gonna fish with it until next winter, pull it and get my credit from them and then move on. On top of that, he told me it was 4-6 weeks before they would ship me another one. Ridiculous. Good luck. Like I said in the other thread, I now have a 3 bank charger instead of 4 cause of the one bank failure. It's BS candidly.

is it actually taking out the 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker in your main electrical panel and you have to reset it?

Or are you on a ground fault circuit interruptor in your garage receptacle and this is what is tripping?

I have seen the second question happen before on a brand new charger. I don't have a gfci in my garage and all appeared normal but first time i went to the lake and plugged into the gfci receptacle at the campground, tripped the gfci. this is also not good and CSI Dual Pro replaced the charger no questions.

It is tripping the gfci outlet.
It worked fine at first and now this mess.

I did get a CS representative at noco to email me an RGA so that it won't cost me out of pocket to ship from Ohio to Arizona. She said that they have a less than 1% failure with there products. Guess I'm the lucky one. She said that turn around time has improved to 1-3 weeks now.

Have you tried a different outlet? Only reason I ask is because I had a similar issue with a different charger and it turned out to be a weak gfci outlet. The outlet would trip with the slightest load applied.

Have you tried another charger? Chances are since it's all outlets,it's the charger. Good luck

In my eyes, it is definitely the charger.

I have a single bank charger and another 3 bank charger and those work fine when I hook them up.

I had a GenPro10x1 go out on me, sent it back (on my dime, wish I had made a bigger deal and got them to pay) but they replaced it with a brand new one, it took about 2-3 weeks. But I don’t know what happened to it, because I had that and a Dual Pro PS3 go out at the same time, lost 2/3 banks on it. Had to send it back on my dime also, but they sent it back repaired. I believe maybe some sort of surge but nothing else in the house was damaged. When I buy a new one it will be a Minn Kota. Does anyone know if Minn Kota pays for all shipping? Both above were repaired/replaced under warranty but shipping to them isn’t cheap on these units.

Less than 1% doesn't line up with my experiences with NOCO, but they've always covered return costs and had quicker turnaround times than I've expected.

Have you tried plugging into a different gfci?
How old is the gfci that keeps tripping?

If it's brand new, why not just return it where you bought it and skip the warranty process?

I always recommend a Minn Kota charger on these threads because of their quality, they might not be cheaper, but nothing cheap is going to last. My MK315D is over 11 years old and still going strong !
