    Updating my 3- 106sv echomaps and 1-126sv

I ordered the SD card right from Garmin to update the software on my 3- 106sv and 1- 126sv. They are all linked together. I have 2- 106sv at consol and 1- 106sv at bow and another 126sv at bow for livescope. So I can just disconnect the black box for livescope, power up all 4 units and insert the SD card in one of the units and it should update all 4 echo maps units? Is everyone happy with the latest Garmin update for the echomap units,?

Right. The MFD software update is a bundle that includes updates for essentially all compatible devices. Make sure your entire system is powered up and everything will be updated if necessary. You can watch the update progress step-by-step for each device on the unit with the update card.

Because it's a different update for the livescope system? Or do I have that wrong?

The livescope update will be included on the card....its the same when you download from the website, all updates are included and will only update whats on the network as Todd mentioned.

Just one more question, when I bought/ordered the card from garmin they asked me what unit it was for? Why would they do that if all cards were universal and updated everything? I don't understand that.

Garmin does separate updates between the different "series" of the units. In other words, Echomap units are different from GPSMap units.

Could someone post a link to this SD card? Is it the same as updating off active captain but in a SD card format ordered straight from Garmin?

Yes, its the same as you updating from AC or downloading the update to your own card. If you do it from Garmin you have to purchase the card (from Garmin) and the update is on it.

A few years back when Garmin released the software update for the perspective mode, many people started having issues. Ghost tree and blind spots in the middle of the screen.

People were asking Garmin to roll back the software or remove whatever caused the issue. According to Garmin rolling back to an older software version was not supported.

Many guys tried going back to the older software, and nothing changed for them. There are many threads on this forum talking about what happened.

Some guys figured out, you can update the depthfinder to the latest software version and not the black box if you disconnet it first. So there would not be anymore issues with changing Livescope if you didn't need to.

Why would you order an SD card for software updates? With your setup you should be able to connect AC via one of the units established WiFi's (mine is my 126 at the Helm) and update/download any software updates needed or available for the entire network.

Or, if you have an AC card already setup, just add the update to that card instead of buying a new one....
