2017 z520c. Should the splash well be water tight? With a full tournament load, (full tank and wells) water is coming over the well (normal?) and I'm pretty sure it's getting into the bilge.

When you say "coming over the well" do you mean when you are just setting and not moving or as you come to a stop of plane ?? Coming off plane is normal, but can be minimal by giving it a little throttle just as you set down. Whatever water getting in the well should not be leaking into the bilge. You may need to check the gasket under the access panel.

Those things will leak. Might need a new gasket. Torque it starting from the middle and work your way out to the side screws. Get as even of torque as possible. I couldn’t get mine to stop leaking completely…a new gasket and even torque on the screws slows it down to almost nothing.

Might move your stuff in rear storage, could be too heavy in back of boat

Yes…you have other issues if water is coming into the splash well under normal fishing conditions.
Check the rub rail seal.

The other places that can allow significant water into the bilge are leaking livewell hoses [including loose hose clamps] and the remote drain plug, if the boat is so equipped.

What John Clark said
The control valve for the live wells is notoriously bad for leaking.! It only takes a little rubber oring like gasket that is fickle to get it right.! My new 2015 521 leaked 1st launch.!
Silicone grease on the remote drain plug is helpful...usually give mine a wipedown and a slight coat of it about 1x a month, or after any long or dirty road trips.

The spashwell cover on my boat has been violated more times than a hooker in a Reno bordello. It will leak but everything in there is made to take water. I will slightly 'goose' the motor when it comes off plane to keep the backwash from really getting everything soaked but it is inevitable there will be water in the bilge when in reverse or a missed 'goose'. Drain the boat everytime and leave the plug out when not on truck. I also raise the front as high as it will go to drain more water out.
I silicone mine down

I want to take off the splash well cover to access my power pole pumps. After Im able to access my pumps When I want to put the cover back on do I just use the screws to screw it back down and that’s it ? It won’t leak?
Lleaking is a possibility after you remove and replace the cover. The cover has a rubber gasket, and rubber does deteriorate over time. You might damage the seal when removing it, plus being replaced in even a slightly different position might cause it not to seat quite as well as currently. If using the same gasket, it’s advisable to clean out the area on which the gasket seats, clean and inspect the gasket for flaws, and then silicone after the gasket is seated.
