Is there any benefits using the MKP-33 except the weedless design? More thrust?

pretty much been covered in the thread... less cost (if using MK33 and modifying it yourself), less fragile, more weedless. Slightly higher cost if buying Aquatech version.

For the guys who have broken multiple ghost props, it's pretty much a no brainer. If you're one of the guys who's been running it for 2-3 years and never broken a prop, maybe not so much.

I noticed more vibration when I switched to that overpriced Aqua tech prop
    has anyone else noticed that?

i only run it when I’m in grass
i feel the ghost prop, even though it’s more fragile, is smoother quieter and faster than the MK

I have not, but to be fair I think I only ran the stock prop once or twice before I swapped it out so don't really recall.

FWIW one of the props I got from them had what I would call an excess amount of epoxy on it, kinda like they got sloppy with it. I called and they sent me another one and told me to keep the other one for a spare. Maybe if you got one like that it is throwing balance off... just a guess.

which pin did you use? the ghost pin is bigger and much longer? will the minn kota pin work as it will be sloppy in the ghost shaft?

did you shorten the ghost pin? ghost pin way longer and goes outside the MK prop slot for the pin?

Well, wanted to follow up on this, since my last post I have started to notice a bit of vibration with the Grass Chopper prop. I did inadvertantly hack my way through a bit of underwater brush/smaller limbs recently, so maybe I did something that affected it. Only really noticing it on higher speeds, ie 6 and up - my BBT dual stack will start vibrating a bit.

So, I threw the stock one back on when I got home, next time out I'll compare at higher speeds also and see how much difference there is.

Ran the stock prop this past weekend, no vibration at higher speeds. I notice some expoy runs on the Aquatech prop, not sure if enough the throw it out of balance but I suppose it's possible. Will try to clean it up and run it again. Also have a spare so will check it as well.

I’ve noticed the MK prop to be a little slower but really not a problem for me as I usually only run on 3 to 5 on speed anyway.

I'm actually the same, anywhere from 3 -5 95% of the time. In fact I've had the MK prop for a few months and only just noticed the vibration recently when I clocked it up to higher to move across from one bank to the other.

I've cleaned up the excess epoxy, and also grabbed my spare one, which is new and clean, so will take both on the water next time and see how they do.

To followup, still getting vibration from the Aquatech modified props, but only on about 6 or higher. It's less than before since I cleaned up the excess epoxy from where they cut off the hub to remove depth from the prop (they expoy the hub back onto the prop and I guess that process is causing some imbalance when run at higher speeds) but it's still there.

6 or so and below no issues. But if you run high speed a lot, the aquatech probably isn't a good choice.

EDIT - I've actually back to the OEM prop for now. Keep the Aquatec in the boat for a spare, and I could quicky throw it on if I needed to work around some slop I suppose, but tbh for that use I would likely be using higher speeds to chop grass so the vibration might be an issue there. So just keeping it as spare for now incase I break the oem. Might add the Ghost version of the grass ninja and see how it does, but if I do so the Aquatec won't fit anymore (unless I yank off the grass ninja when switching).

I thought I had posted a follow-up on this already, but since the thread is back up - I contacted Aquatech Marine about the vibration and they sent me two replacement props, and I haven't had any issues with it since.

They must have changed the original batch of blades, I have one of the first retail sold ghost and I’ve hit rock’s & stumps, it has never broken. Wonder if the originals were softer plastic.

Sure wish someone would come out with a better prop for the Ghost. One specifically made for the Ghost. Been through 4 OEM props now.
