    prop on yamaha 150 SHO and ranger 18 foor 451

    Ok so i just upgraded to a four stroke - using my old 23M prop I get major improvement in hole shot and top end about the same. But it seems I am running out of trim at 5300 RPMs and it feels like there is more there. No jackplate. I have no idea what to consider that might improve the top end (58 MPH now) while still keeping a decent hole shot. any insights appreciated. thank

    You need less pitch, a 21" pitch prop for starters.
