remove your two wires at their bullet conectors and touch one to "ground" and one to 12v + and see if trim works. If so then replace both relays!

In my case it was wrong in the ( 14 pin ) remote , a 14>8 pin adapter and my old remote fixed the problem ....

Re: My trim quit Don. (ssimpala71)

Brian (ssimplala) is speaking of the wires from the trim motor. They come throught the Starboard transom bracket, then "loop" and go up into the cowling.

He's correct... unhook the bullet connectors on these two wires. Touch one to ground, and the other to 12V+. If the trim operates, you likely have bad relays.

The remaining possibility would be a bad power supply or ground to the relays themselves.

Of course... if the trim DOES NOT function when tested as above- your trim motor is likely shot.

OK went out to check it and it was working fine. HM?

Worked it up and down several times and it quit again.HM?

Tapped on the trim motor with handle of a screwdriver and it went to working fine again.

So I guess the motor or brushes is bad or going out.

That's what it sounds like... I'd try to "duplicate" the "doa operation" and test using the 12V-to-the-bullet-connectors test, just to be sure.... IF possible. Helps to "rule out some guesswork".
