Did Evinrude sell both the Ficht and E-Tec in 2003? I've been boat shopping and found one boat that has a 2003 200 Ficht. I found another that has a 2003 225HO E-Tec. I have messaged both sellers and they claim both motors or 2003 models.

E-Tec's didn't come out until 2005. 2003 would have been a direct injection engine. Not sure if the Ficht was also made in 2003.

The first model year for a 225HO Evinrude ETEC was 2005 according to the parts catalog. So no such thing as a 2003 225HO ETEC

Thanks for the help. Got it figured out. The 2003 200 is actually a 225 direct injected motor with a earlier 200 Ficht cover because the boat was rated for a 200. The 2003 225HO is a direct injected motor as some one said it should be. The stars and stripes cover threw me on that one. I found out they did that on the HO's in 2003.
My 2003 is a Ficht motor. I know because of the research and the money I have put in to it. Now that I have all (I hope) the stuff fixed. It is a good engine.
