Lowrance Elite FS9 with Motorguide Xi5 Built-in Transducer

I purchased a used Motorguide Xi5 last summer and have been looking to upgrade to a Lowrance Elite FS 9, possibly to add Active Target in the future.

Will the built-in transducer in the Motorguide work with the FS9? I assume it would be better to get the 3-in-1 Active Imaging transducer to get all of the benefits of the FS9 (except Active Target). Am I thinking about this correctly?

Yes it will work but you need an adapter cable part #: 000-13313-001
As for the 3 in 1 it depends,if you do a lot of structurescan yes but if not there is no gain.
