How do you store your anchor?

Picked up a 2015 Crestliner VT 19 and wondering what and where is the best place to store our anchor, chain and rope? I do carry a danforth anchor setup. I am thinking some soft of padded zipper bag may be the best but looking for options. It will end up on one of the 3 rod lockers as we have all the floatables under the seat.

I put mine on a gel filled life jacket in one of the rod lockers. Helps so it doesn’t bounce around and the pins on the side won’t hit the inside of the locker. The padded bags are nice too, just couldnt justify the price the the limited amount I fish out of my boat.

I suppose I should think about getting one of those anchor things. Thanks for the reminder.

Mine's in the shop buried under a bunch of crap. Haven't had one in the boat for years.

I just use the Ultrex also which is why I haven’t bought one. But I like to be prepared and since I’m not worried about speed and have plenty of storage it would be good to have one.

Anchor bag and tucked in a storage compartment. Fishing the rivers near dams, I look at it as a safety item. Spotlock not gonna do any good if I lose all power for some reason.

    No doubt.
However, the odds of losing trolling motor and big motor at the same time would be astronomical.

Depends on how far you are from the ramp and how fresh your batteries are. There's a reason I refuse to milk a battery for all it's worth and replace my trolling batts as a set and not one at a time.

    All sound reasons !!
Hopefully the day will never come that I do need one.
I simply got tired of hauling one around after about 40 years of never needing one for an emergency.

ya an anchor is required here. In NY you need anchors, flares, a throwable, and a flag to be legal. I was checked last year by county sheriff during a routine water inspection and I didn’t have an anchor because I sold it to a buddy a few days prior. Luckily the sheriff officers were in a good mood, thanked me for being polite, and let me go after showing them that my trolling motor worked so they considered that an “anchor”.

With electronics controlling both now odds are much higher than the used to be.
