MinnKota MK460PC Battery 4 Not Charging

    Hey Gang,

With my MK460pc I recently noticed that battery 4 was not coming up past 25% charge, Initially I thought that maybe it was the battery. Before I went out and got a new battery I decided to switch the leads with Battery 3 and Battery 4, and still battery 4 was not showing more than 25% charge even tho it was at 100% before a before I switched them.

After watching the charger for a few minutes I noticed that it will come up to 50% for about 10 seconds then flashes error and goes back to 25%. So it seems like something Is wrong with the charger, Just not sure what.

Anyone seen this issue before ?

    Thanks in advance.

You might want to use a meter on the batteries to see what they actually are. If they are at 12.7 or 12.8 after setting overnight they are charging, but the SOC are broken. If less than 12.7 if it follows the lead it is the charger. You have to be sure there is nothing pulling power from the battery affected and make sure the charger leads are free of corrosion(same goes for the fuses and holders). These things are not cheap, it is worth your time to figure it out. JMO Bob

Yea ill check it out tomorrow. There isn't anything drawing power. I have it on a shut off switch to my trolling motor and only my trolling motor.

    Thanks for the reply
