    Boat Ramp Follie

Went to unhook the boat yesterday at Shoups in the dark. Water had dropped at least a foot since Saturday leaving the concrete very slimy. Being in a hurry, I didn't notice. My feet shot out in front of me, felt like I was doing a back flip.Long story short, I landed on my arm pit across the trailer tongue. Knocked the air out of me.I knew I was hurt pretty good but still wanted to get on the water to help an old friend that was fishing a tournie. I found good fish again but had to leave due to the pain.Came home, took some meds and slept.Woke up at 2:30 this morning in excrutiating pain.Wife took me to ER,you got it,busted ribs.Man does it Hurt. So, lesson learned, take your time going from your truck to undue your strap on the boat, I don't wish this on anyone...well, almost anyone

Ouch. Glad you weren't hurt any worse, there is a lot of metal and concrete you could have struck with the ole melon. for a quick recovery.

Mike, sorry to hear about the bad luck. Hope the doc gave you something to help you rest and relieve the pain. Been there, done that, got a t-shirt for it....don't want another! Hope you can continue to fish but it takes a long time to heal those ribs.

Sorry to hear about the fall, but pain meds and the BBC, this could be an interesting week.

Hope you get better soon Mike. Just imagine if you weighed 240 and hit that trailer. I've busted a few ribs over the years, not any fun. You will have to stick to finesse fishing for a while...no big flippin stick hook sets for a while.

I am sure the last thing Mike wants to do right now is laugh.

Dang, sorry to hear that Mike, but I'm glad it wasn't worse. That could have turned out pretty bad.

I'm curious though, how were you going to "help out" your old friend that was fishing a tourney???
