Which lower unit???I can't begin to express the appreciation I have for y'all he

I can't begin to express the appreciation I have for y'all helping me get my boat back in the water. One last hurdle - the foot. The grinding noise going into reverse is sickening. Figured that is next on the list. I have a 1995 pro craft super pro 200 with a 95 mariner 200 efi with a trophy plus 26 pitch and 2 3/8 (center of prop shaft) below the pad( any higher and i start to lose water pressure below 10 psi. My present foot is probably the stock one that came on it. It is grey, rounded nose and five or six holes going up each side. Hole shot is ok better as the tanks get empty and top end is around 68 to 72 speedo. 5900 rpm at wot. My question- differences between lower units , fat shaft, 20, 25, 15. Torque master, sportster sportsman, sei. Bobs nose cone, low water pickup. 1:78 to 1 , 1:87 to 1 , 2 to 1. Torquetaps , allison cut, hydrofoils and plates. Which would be the best one to look at for my set up. I'm not drag racing, i'm fishing and playing on the lake. I really don't want to have to take three hundred yards to get on plane or send my son to the front deck to get it to fall over. Lol. Thanks for the suggestions.

You need a stock 1.87 Torquemaster or Fleetmaster. You don't need a coned unit from Bob's, you'll lose speed.

If you want to reduce the drag in the water of a lower being below the bottom of a hull to keep water pressure healthy how else could this happen ???

I think what Josh means is that his hull is not capable of speeds where a nosecone is needed and that hull does not like high transom heights. The added surface area of the nose cone running at the same transom height as a torquemaster has more drag and a tad slower. It's a bubba boat thing

    For example:

I run a 21ft Bullet with a 250 3 Liter motor. I run a torquemaster lower unit. A coned case and sportsmaster will make my boat a couple mph slower and handle worse, i've tested it and several others have too. The coned lower increases drag. A torquemaster works just fine up to the mid to high 80's, then a sportsmaster or coned case is needed.

    -----------------

What you're suggesting will most likely slow the boat down and make it handle worse.

DUNNO never owned a boat that wouldn't run 100 +MPH in the quarter mile from a standing start.
