    Osborne ramp

Have a small club T out on the James Saturday and noticed the DNR has a warning about ramp issues at Osborne. Reads >Osborne Pike Landing
Open with restricted use during construction period, 4/26 - 6/20/10. Alternative launch site: Deep Bottom Landing, South of Seven Pines on Deep Bottom Road. <

Anyone know how "restricted" the ramp is right now?

    Thanks

You should be able to contact Rich Huddleston for ramp information, He would be the person you contact for scheduling tournaments in Henrico County, Richard Huddleston, 804-501-5127. Post a message and let us know the ramp condition. Appears to be a number of tournaments coming up at that location.

I think they are dredging out the mouth. At low tide a bass boat cant even get in there without trimming it all the way up.

    Appreciate the contact.

    Re: Osborne ramp (POP R)

I launched there during the high winds on Saturday. All of the ramps were open, but the mouth getting into the river was very shallow. I hope they don't restrict it too much on Sunday since there is a region Federation tournament launching from there.

Right now they just have the walkways taped off but the ramps are usable as there were several large boats launching Saturday when I was there.

    Re: Osborne ramp (NITRO DAN)

Richard advises the ramp should be fine for Saturday or Sunday. (our club event is Saturday at 6AM).

Guess I might have the opportunity to meet some new people FYI, I have a black silverado truck, Basscat Cougar FTD white hull, metalic blue/blk trim.

Hey Dan. This is Bill. I hope this one is better than our 6-man excursion. Typically, the James has been one of the lowest turnouts for Reg 6, but that was because it was late in the year and the people low in points choose not to come. In '08, it was about 35 boats and ~25 in '09.
Since this is the 3rd Reg tourney of the year, I expect it to be 35-40+. Our club will be very well represented.

The ramp is fine but the walkways are not usable....can not walk on them at all. I was there with 15 boats tonight and it was a pain in the arse !!!!
