How old is battery? How much reserve capacity? What does voltage read with multimeter? Have you checked charger? How often you running motor?

My old hds7 will alarm fairly often. Other unit never does, but it is on better wiring.

Sounds like outboard may not be charging when you are running, does the voltage on depth finder go up when its running. Being rebuilt it could have a loose wire or perhaps voltage regulator has gone bad.

Doesn't say a whole lot. Give us the battery brand, group and specs. Some battery shops might only carry a group 27 which would be underpowered for what you're loading it with.

Have the battery load tested and find out if your rebuilt 250 is charging as it should.

So what are the specs of the battery? Should be a sticker with the information.

If you are running all those electronics with your cranking batter that right there is tricky. Verify the outboard alternator is putting out sufficient charge. Verify that you have a correct battery for all you require of it. Verify that your charger is functioning properly. If you still have issues you may have a bad battery or a wiring issue.

I moved all my electronics to a dedicated bttery. My cranking battery is the X2 and it starts the outboad and powers all other accessories except the electronics. I have no issues.

Maybe a dumb question but still bears asking - it’s not a deep cycle battery is it ? That’s a big NO for a cranking battery.
    Ranting incoherently

Your volt gauge on the dash should show at least 14 volts with the outboard running on plane. Also check what the gauge reads with the charger hooked up. Do you charge the battery every time after each outing?

Your situation sounds very similar to what I went through last year. I learned that running big-screen electronics along with my livewell system was pulling a lot more amps than I thought. I also learned that I wasn't really running the big motor for an extended period of time that would allow the alternator to do much charging. Just running from spot to spot doesn't do much. Lastly, I thought my cranking battery was good because it was only about 18 months old. I finally had it tested by my local marine dealer - he showed me that it had less than 10% of the cranking capacity that it should have even though I had charged it recently. He told me that although most batteries last a long time, they do see a "dud" from time to time. He told me that they have seen more batteries recently with a broken lead plate, most likely from rough handling during shipping. Once that happens he said that battery is done for. I purchased a new cranking battery and now everything works fine again.

Try a different battery and see if it repeats.
Then you'll know if its the battery or the alternator.

A deep cycle will crank, But a cranking batt will not deep cycle..... As long as the deep cycle meets the minimum CA for your motor....

Well, if you're not in a tournament turn all the extra crap off just run a depth finder until you get your system checked out.
