And there is no more Genmar. They literally do not exist anymore. All are owned by a new division of Platinum Equity yet to named.

I'm really anxious about what Hopper will do with Champion...and while very happy about Ranger, my first love in bass boats with Champion being a close second, IMHO it's no secret that Hopper has never liked Champion boats because Don Wood and staff were doing such a great job at Champion in the last few years even though they were never afforded the same advertising budget Ranger was by Genmar...a huge credit to Don and his staff to still have better sales numbers in the last couple of years over all others. It was pretty obvious that Hopper felt threatened by Champions success.

Sadly all the fine folks at the Champion and Stratos factory in Murfreesboro, many who are personal friends, are now out of a job.

All were just pinked slipped including Don Wood and Stephanie Dinkins who were monumental in Champion's success.

I hope Hopper recognizes what he has in Champion and PE does not let him run them in the ground.....All of us have different likes and dislikes in our boat brands, there's plenty of room for two fine bass boats like Champion and Ranger for folks to be able to choose from.

So as happy as I am for Ranger folks, it is a very sad day for the dedicated staff and workers at Champion plant in Murfreesboro, they are all unemployed.... way to go PE...

Personally I wish an independent buyer would buy Champion, rehire all the staff and leave the factory in Murfreesboro Tn. I think Don and staff would make them proud and successful!
