Cahoon and Meade Lakes in Suffolk

Have a friend who just moved to the area and is interested in fishing these lakes. Does any one know if you can still get permits at Cahoon?

Also, regarding Prince, Western Branch and all....where do you need to go to get permits?

I used to fish all these lakes, but that was back in the day when there were concessions at Western Branch and Prince.

Lea, Cahoon and Meade are owned and operated by Portsmouth, and you can still get your permit at the fishing station at the ramp at Meade. Prince, Western Branch, and Burnt Mills are owned by Norfolk, and they have closed all fishing stations at the ramps I believe. You can get a permit for Norfolk lakes at Dashiell's or from the City Parks Dept.

and there are other places to get the permits like: Owens store, City of Norfolk, Oceans East, for Prince, and West Branch...

I used to fish the Norfolk lakes and once in awhile the Ports ones, but it's been years.

Thanks for the info guys! I will pass the word to Christopher. Have been trying to get him on BBC, but he has too many things going on, including wanting to buy a boat..preferably a pontoon... Will get jon from NWR if he fishes Norf and Ports lakes..

You can rent a jon boat and motor from the boat house at Cahoon/Meade which includes the permit, but you do have to have your own at any of the Nofolk run lakes.
