was coming tomorrow , is it worth the 2.5 hour ride?
Yesterday was my first time to the Richmond Expo so I have no previous years to compare it to. I've been to much bigger shows but I still enjoyed this one. I really liked seeing what the home handpour guys are coming out with. Besides some of the sales I saw with the GreenTop folks I didn't really see any impressive price reductions anywhere else.![]()
Show was smaller this year. Was great seeing what Robin has come up with at R & R Baits. He can pour just about anything and seeing an old friend Ray Tweedy.

Those R&R Baits were some of the best I saw. I will be ordering from them once they get their site on-line.![]()

I just got back and was not impressed. Sat through the "G" mans seminar what a character,
Talking about KVD and what sets him apart from everyone else.![]()
R & R have some really good stuff. And all of it works. For all you jig fisherman and ladies he makes some jigs that are out of this world. Plus Robin is a brother with the Hopewell Fire Dept. He is a Captain at #2![]()

Went to the show today. Although not as big as in years past - there were a lot of tackle dealers with some deals. Saw some of the Deps stuff at Greentop - Deps is really proud of their lures. First time I have seen a spinnerbait with a price of $22.
Went there this afternoon with my wife. I thought it was ok, and I think she was really bored.....
Saw a swimbait priced at $56!!!!! I was amazed to even think someone would buy that!
Was disappointed at the lack of boats, but given the Genmar situation, I was not surprised that only Ranger, of the genmar lines, got to be displayed...
The Sterling was gorgeous....Someone knows color combinations!!!![]()
It seems the boat company has decided to promote a new line instead of calling it Gambler. Looks the same, but everything says Sterling Competition Bass Boats...not Gambler boats... New marketing, I guess..
Well I liked the Seminars the G-Man boy could he talk...John Crews likes cranbaits...and then there Steve Chaconas talked about the Potomac River Bass a lot of good stuff there....![]()

Little smaller than previous years, still had a good time. I tell you, Gman was really wired up on energy drinks, he was going a mile a minute.
Got to meet a speak with Rick Pierce from Bass Cat, man what a super guy, talks to you like you've known him for years. Really broke down the Cats for me from top to bottom, and how to buy a quality rod and what to look for.
Not a big show but better than staying home
The show was smaller and frankly, I should have gone fishing...

I guess its not fair to compare it to the years when every building was open (instead of just 2) and were full of boats, custom hand pour booths, etc etc.
This was the smallest ever. WHen I saw the bass tub in the first building...I knew t was gonna be small! The bass tub used to be 4 buildings down from the main exit.
I wanted to go but I've been really busy at work for the last several weeks. I needed the rest. I'm glad I didn't go seeing some of responses here & in a few other threads.
