Panama Tuna -- the Ultimate Topwater Experience

Some of you may have heard me talking about topwater fishing for tuna on Bass Talk Live last week. I get a little revved up when I discuss it, because I've caught big bass at El Salto on a Rico and giant peacocks in the Amazon on the woodchopper and while both of those were epic, neither was as life-changing as yellowfins on poppers. Last year my wife and I took groups of bass anglers to Isla Parida, Panama in April and November and we're headed back again in early November 2022. There are still some spots left.

Unfortunately, it's not inexpensive, but if you can swing it I guarantee it's worth every penny. Not just tuna, but also billfish, mahi, and inshore species like roosterfish and cubera snapper.

It's on a private island and there's VIP service from start to finish -- you get picked up at your gate at the airport, whisked through VIP security, sit in a lounge with a cold drink while they collect your luggage, etc. The food, lodging, tackle and boats are all world-class. If you owe yourself a true bucket list trip, this is it. Would love to introduce more bass anglers to this deal. If you have any interest, message me here or email us at fishmore@halfpastfirstcast.com

It's just about the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

His Pure Fishing team will need to build you either the world's biggest Power Worm or a 3 ounce Choppo!

More details at Pete’s February post, to include a nice video. If you think you have seen a topwater bite on your local lake, we’ll, you really have no idea….

Ron and his lucky shorts may have caught a big tuna or three.
