Wow! most of you guys are using a lot lighter line than I do. I will use either a Castaway (M) action or a Lew's (MH) action with Chronarch 6.3 I think with 17-20# Silver Thread.

I'm different than most, but I have two setups that have treated me well this far. The first I use when fishing around a lot of cover and in dingy water. Usually all I will use for the plug is a KVD 1.5 or 2.5. The line ranges from 15-20lb flouro. The rod is one I built off of a Rainshadow blank. It's a CB70H. It was interest to be. ChatterBait/Swim Jig rod, which it also works great for. It has a stiff tip which helps me control the bait more, popping it off of a stump or clearing a piece of grass. The mid section is parabolic and loads well when fighting a fish. I normally go up to a #2 treble with that setup as well.
The other is for a more open scenario. I will use several different plugs, the rod is another Rainshadow that I built off of a CB76MH blank. I cut 2" off the tip and 4" off the butt. I stick with 15lb line on that setup. It has a lot more tip which helps cast the smaller plugs farther and better for playing a fish with a little smaller hooks at times.

How can you go wrong with the 705cb?
I'm still using the D5 Chronarch with it
