Not good, not good at all...I'm all for making a 2 fish limit this time of year.

Ok, if I read this correctly there were dead catfish too? And maybe I should read it again. But did the tournament have anything to do with the catfish and other species of fish that were dead??![]()

Hume, there were reports that many dead bass were found at the ramp the day after the tournie, the catfish I have no idea about.

What I'm getting at is that when there is poor water quality (in the hot months mostly) it kills all types of fish. Not just the ones that were caught in a Tourny. Those bass may have died whether they were caught or not. ItÂs just funny that people jump to the conclusion that fish died because of the Tournament when there are also dead fish that were not in the Tournament. This same thing happened at Harris one time. A bunch of dead bass was found behind the bridge and it had to be the tournament. It couldnÂt have possibly been poor water quality in the shallower water back there. Or, and this is a possibility, that all the tournament released bass swam back behind the bridge to die, yeah, thatÂs it.

Hume i support FLW as i fish BFL's. If you go to the Potomac you will see dead catfish everytime you go, as well as maybe a carp or gar. But i can say i rarely see a dead bass. 600 dead bass in a 6 mile stretch is unreal. Who knows if FLW had anything to do with it or not. 3,500 fish weighed in is a bunch of fish. There were a lot of boats with over 25lbs of fish in the livewell. That's tuff on fish this time of year.
The answer could be as simple as grass. The grass that supports the ecosystem in the Potomac has yet to blume as much as normal.I have been there over the past month and have seen fish on both sides of the river from the WW bridge to Aquia.I admit that the added stress dont help but before Ken Penrod starts running off at the lip he might want to think about how many people use his guide service to get better on the Potomac for tournaments.I think as the grass blumes and the fish settle down from their transition of spawning it will be fine.many lakes have kills post-spawn from the stress of the spawn and the hot weather.
