    HP Pavillion Laptops

Not fishing related but more safety related. There is a recall on HP laptops with regards to the batteries overheating and catching on fire. If you have one you might want to go to the HP website and check it out. Dont ask me how I found out.....

Thanks just had a new mother board put in mine in Feb. The battery used to get so hot I would put a big pillow on my lap. also got an aftermarket dual fans. Mine is the HP Pavilion dv6000. Thanks for the heads up. Now i can get a new battery.

    Funny this topic came up...

We had a fire in a barracks room two nights ago. HP Pavilion battery overheated and set the bed on fire.

Nobody hurt...very minimum damage. The owner was right there and noticed the smell.

Had no one been in the room, it coulda been ugly....

    Re: HP Pavillion Laptops (Basshunter2006)

Naturally, both my HPs are listed. I will have to pull batteries and see if they are the affected ones...

Does the over-heating occur only when using the battery for power, or can it also happen while on AC power? I never use the battery power so am hoping a non-issue.

I have had the HP I am using right now for a couple of years...the other is fairly new, but I rarely use it because it does not work well on dial-up. Works pretty good on the satellite at work, tho...Very odd....
