    1988 Johnson GT150

I ran my motor for the first time this year with muffs on and it seems to be running great. however I am noticing what seems to be a black oil and gas mixture slowly dripping out at the bottom of the prop. any ideas?

If you had to use the choke a bit to get it to bust off that is normal.

I had run the gas out of it after adding stability when winterizing, so yeah it took a bit of pumping and choke to get it started.

    No problems just excess fuel/oil.

If you have the VRO hooked up and turn the gas off to run it out of fuel, the VRO will keep pumping oil and fill your carbs with oil. No need to run the motor out of fuel if you added Stabil.

My mistake on running the gas out then. Yes it has Stabil. I had done this in the past with smaller motors. Thanks again everyone for the advice and answers.

make sure to use omc engine detuner to remove any possible carbo buildup on the heads... It's a killer on the motors
