Bow mount Solix gimbal bracket

I need some thoughts on mounting the bow graph. I am installing a Solix 10 on a Champion 21SX. This is our family rig, so I don't need a full tournament angler setup.

I was thinking of just using the stock gimbal bracket and mounting in front of the recessed trolling motor tray that I will be installing.

1. Any issue with the stock plastic bracket not bring strong enough? Is there any alternative?
2. I was thinking of installing it on one of the brackets that goes over the trolling motor pedal tray, but what is the advantage of doing this? When doing this you still use the stock gimbal on top of the bracket, right?
3. I have seen the gimbal brackets installed right on the angled fiberglass dash panel too. Which I would be okay with too.

Attached is a pic of the dashboard area, prior to the Ultrex upgrade. Also, the trolling motor tray will be installed soon.

When you say plastic bracket are you talking about the gimbal bracket. It is metal and plenty strong. Just make sure where you mount it is strong. Bob

It sure as heck did not feel like metal. I guess I will check again. Maybe the finish on it made me think it is plactic?

I have 2 Solix's 10 & 12 and both gimbal mounts are metal

I would get a riser over the tray

Fist you have yet to install the tray so you may have not have the room for it on the deck

Second bringing the screen closer makes it easier to see and adjust

Look at St8 UP or DekIt mounts

1/4" aluminum gimble brackets.

Also precision Sonar products are very nice. I have them at console and BBT at the bow.
