Usually, the teams looking for new coaches are in a bad situation and often have bad ownership. It also seems like the same teams are turning over coaches every two to three years. Not a good situation for any new head coaching candidate.
If I was in a strong OC position, I would wait for the right opportunity and not just take any head coaching position
Pretty sure his criminal record is keeping him from being the face of a franchise.
Coordinator, sure, we can keep that under wraps and nobody really questions anything.
Head coach, yeah, people are gonna go after him hard.
There are NFL GMs with criminal records.
It's all Mahomes, like it is all Rodgers and all Brady.
Gosh it's not racism, but it is a bias --- he played for the Wolverines of Michigan.![]()
My argument would be about is the owner if blocking it. I have seen people blocked from jobs in companies for that reason. I am NOT justifying just my theory.

I have never heard that his background is holding him back. Like said above, GM's have a criminal record so do some owners. Saying that he doesn't interview well seems like a cop out too. I love how some people were saying that certain black guys were not being hired because they were DC's and teams want OC's then there were DC's hired as HC.
Black guys get fired faster than white guys. Black guys don't get rehired like white guys do. It's obvious that team owners would rather take a chance on a white guy than a black guy.
I don't believe teams are as high on Bieniemy as the media. Why? That I don't know. To me it was telling when the Bears new GM came from KC and didn't interview Bieniemy. Most new GM's want to hire a coach they know and are comfortable with. The Vikings also didn't interview him and he was there for four years I believe. His final year he was the Assistant Head Coach. I've heard he interviews well but obviously teams don't project him to be a good head coach for some reason.
I was hoping as a Chargers fan, he came to LA after they fired Lynn last year. He was one of my favorite players growing as a Chargers fan.
Maybe he is not that good. If he is indeed calling the plays, there are some very questionable calls at critical times. I don't believe he is really that good and wouldn't mind seeing him go.![]()
He hasn't proven himself without a great QB. Not sure how well he knows the rest of the team functions - Special teams, defense, etc. From the outside he only knows how to drop shot, doesn't now how to power fish, crank, or use glide baits. One trick pony - offense.
Eh, Just look how well the chiefs previous OC's are doing as head coaches right now.........

Maybe he just isn't really that good.
