Yeah they like gas.

Yep pretty much it. Keep good oil in it and clean internally and you should have a good motor. If any weak spot it would be in the gear case, but the lightnings are pretty solid in that application.

If this is the original powerhead & VRO pump,should I replace pump or remove & mix oil or do nothing?

You will think thats great keep your foot in that petal for 4 or 5 20 min runs and you will see they do like the gas. least mine does.
But really I keep my foot outa it till last run to ramp, then I open it up for a couple mins. clean it out good. usally I can go all day on 4 to 6 gals gas.

No problems with mine. I add seafoam, startron, and 2+4 at every fill up and decarb once a year.
Loves gas but has lotsa power.
