Question from Canadian visitor to Urbanna, Virginia Rappahannock River
Hi,
My wife and I will be near Urbanna, Virginia for 2 weeks at the start of August at a cottage with a long dock into the Rappahannock River. I'm from near Toronto, Canada and it's my first time in Virginia and first time tidal/saltwater fishing. I don't have a boat. What is the best method to fish off a dock/pier in the area? I have heavy duty spinning equipment as well as lightweight and lots of spinning lures and plugs and small jigs that I use for bass, walleye, pike and salmon in Lake Ontario and northern Ontario. I'm ok with bait fishing as well. Is it better at high tide/low tide?
Any suggestions of lure/method/bait would be appreciated. I'm not targetting any species in the river, any fish that swims would be fun!
Thanks,
Don
