Whats the difference in Johnson and Evinrude V4 lower units? I'm looking for a new lower unit for my Johnson V4 115. Would an evinrude lower unit mount up with modifications? They look very similar.

So they are the same and compatible. I thought so but wasn't sure. Thanks for the help!

The V-4 units will mount to your motor, however, you must keep the same driveshaft length and shift rod design for your particular motor. Starting in 1991, 2 piece driveshafts were introduced and got things confusing when mixing and matching lower units. If you watch this carefully, you will be O.K.
