Huntsville Alabama & Chattanooga Tn questions.

Thank you to everyone giving me input on my move. I have a questions to apply to both cities.

If I were to find employment based out of either cities and wanted a 30 minute or less commute to work, what areas of the cities would i look for Safe, Affordable, and fishing accessible places to live.

As an example: I live 45 miles outside of Chicago . My town of Lockport is very safe , great schools, and affordable. My home is in the mid to high $300,000 range . You can take my house move it 10 miles north and it $750,000, Move it South and it's $200,000. I'm trying to find a Few "Best Bang for the money " area. I'm more of a small town guy as is my GF. If you have questions please feel free to PM me.

I live in Chattanooga. The answer depends, IMO, on where your employment is at. The I-24/ I -75 interchange has stage one done, two is next. The US 27 from the north to downtown is complete. I commuted from Dayton to Hamilton Place more than 30 yrs. age, and it was an hour plus with the traffic. Worse now. Lake access is not an issue no matter where you live in the area. Plenty of launches. I am six miles from either Chick,or Nickajack launch. Chattanooga also, I believe, is Tennessee's third largest city. Housing in general is below the national averages. Yesterday's paper had an article showing a median around $ 260k.

Anywhere between Huntsville and Lake G should get you what you are looking for.
Owens Crossing, Scottsboro or Guntersville are growing rapidly and have a wide range in real-estate prices.
along 431 or 72 would work. Gurley is nice as well.
    Good luck!

My late brother moved from Wisconsin to Decatur Alabama. It was a nice small and affordable place to live. The problem was health care which was very poor. He went to Huntsville for treatments, but I couldn’t get him to go to Birmingham. It wound up costing him his life. I was appalled at the conditions of the care and hospital in Decatur. Healthcare should be high on your priority list.

Both my gf and I have been in manufacturing sales. I have always been an outside sales rep and she is inside sales and customer service/ inventory management. I am open to other careers and especially interested in part time professional positions like purchasing , inventory management, Sales, . She really is a Jack of all trades when it comes to manufacturing companies . She has excelled in Customer Service Management, High end/ Key account inside sales, Inventory management, and planning.

Crankin if you end up in TN and want to explore selling health and life insurance (we deal mostly in Medicare) drop me a line. There are always 1099 insurance broker jobs. I'm sure I can find you another contact if you live elsewhere.

Chattanooga is a big town trying to be a city. I’ve lived here all my life. Fishing access is anywhere close to where you are on The Chic.
Areas to look : Soddy Daisy Hixson, Middle Valley . Nice areas good values.
Erlanger Hospital is. UT teaching Hospital and level Three Trama center

You will like the lack of taxes and the few and far between socialist

The Tennessee River can provide you with enough fishing opportunities for many years.
    You can lead a horticulture,
but you can't make her think.

The healthcare in Huntsville is anything but poor but it is not at the level that Birmingham is. Birmingham has world class medical professionals in some disciplines.

Be aware, you'll pay for the privilege of living anywhere.
I'd let climate and fishing drive the choice at this point.
You'll find jobs nearly anywhere, but it can change later.
Happiness is key. If you don't like it, cheap is useless.

For the record, I did not say the healthcare in Huntsville was poor, I said Decatur. Huntsville is a very high tech city.
