I like Izorline, I used P-line for a while I think that the Izorline has less memory and I can feel the bottom and bites alot better. Just my memory, I was trying a few different lines when i finally decided on izorline. I never did try the suffix.

Cherry Dog...here's my opinion. One of my best friends loves Suffix(seige i think ?).The guy you saw me on the Pamunky with. I tried it last year for one trip then gave him the line. I've never had so many break offs in one trip. After day one i threw the first spool away thinking it was bad. Second day same thing different spool. Now we were sight fishing and i don't have a soft hookset. Line kept breaking on hookset. Then he proceeds to tell me he uses Big Game for plastics and Suffix for everything else. I use P-Line CXX-Xtra tuff. Not the most sensitive and does have memory but i change my line fairly often. I NEVER break on the hookset with 12lb.

I like P-Line (CX and Floroclear), I used Suffix (red & blue box) for a while I think that the P-Line has less memory and I can feel the bottom and bites alot better. I was trying a few different lines when I finally decided on P-Line. I will be trying Izorline this year as well.

    Re: Opinions (Carlos H)

I spent this entire past season trying out many different types of line...I even had all my reels labeled as to which line was on them. I narrowed it down to three lines I now use exclusively:

P-Line CXX for all my crankbait, spinnerbait, misc. rods.

XPS Flouro for all my worm, senko, shakey-head rods.

Power Pro Braid for all my braid rods.

I tried at least one spool of just about everything out there. Some reels I was re-spooling once a week. Not everything I tried was bad, by any means...but these three performed the best for me and the way I fish.

Fluro Clear P for me, and Power Pro Braid for special fishing then in Silver Thread and Big Game. Silver Thread very small dia and cast better.

I still love my floroclear, I actually use it for everything braid for certain placesand things, I broke pline few times but that was when I was wrapped up on something and that was 15lb test not 20lb. Bed fishing seems like I swing all the big fish with no problems from the pline.

Silver Thread AN-40 14# and 12# for most applications for me. P-Line original 20# for main C-rig and for topwater. Have never had a break-off.

    Re: Opinions (mcherry)

I started out a looooong time ago using Stren. Then I went to BPS Excel and never had any problems. Started reading magazine articles and switched to Silver Thread(this was a long time ago). Then guys in my club was using P-line.
Then a friend sent me some Izorline. Then my bass club prez got a sponsorship gig with Sufix( I call it sucks).

    Overview:
Never ever had a problem with BPS Excel Line and its very cheap.
Izorline is the best I used so far and they contributed ALOT to the BBC Santa
    P-Line is good....too much memory.
Silver Thread is really good as is Stren.

    Sufix......s u c k s !!!!!!

    Re: Opinions (mcherry)

I'v tried a lot and still looking. Izorline is good on open face reels. Reel memory is the problem I have with most I'v tried. I guess I need to step up to the expensive stuff.

    Re: Opinions (mcherry)

I've come to the conclusion that P-Line is really all you need. There are other good lines but my research is over. I’ve had great success with all the types of P-Line I've used.

Izorline sucks to me. I had a bad experience and knew of friends that did also. People tell me we got a bad batch. Well that bad batch cost them some customers then. But that's just my 2 cents and my opinion really does not matter. I have heard good things about Suffix, but I had heard good things about Izorline too.

    Re: Opinions (Basswipe)

It's all going to boil down to personal preference. Like brands of boats, you really have to try them all, and decide what works best for you. For years and years, I used nothing but Silver Thread, and I still think it's one of the best lines on the market for the money. But after I tried Izorline, it was a no brainer to make a total switch out. By far, the most durable, supple, and castable line I had ever used. So, again, it's all about what works for an individual.

P-Line is the stiffest, most memory succeptable, poorest casting line I have ever seen period.

So, Mike, pick a few that you've gotten good info on and give them a try. In the end, you need to choose a line that you have total confidence in.

    Re: Opinions (FireBassr)

I too have run the gammit on line (suffix/stren/berkley). I finally chose P-line floro clear for most applications. I use 8lb Vanish transition (tough stuff)for one of my spinning outfits and Power Pro on 2 braid rods 1 spin 10lb/1 cast 30lb.

    I have not used Izorline.

    My 2 cents
