Which Merc 4 stroke should I get for 20ft Ranger boat. There are like 10 different models: CXXL, Proxs DTS, HP L, CXL, ProXS Torque, etc. I have a Merc ProXS 250 on there now, and want to upgrade soon. Any suggestions?

If your keeping your existing controls then a 250hp Pro XS CMS (conventional mid section) with 20" shaft length. Another option for a few $$$$ more is to replace the controls and opt for the Mercury DTS (Digital Throttle & Shift)
Instead of a mechanical cable, electronic throttles use sensors and wires to transmit commands through the engine’s computer. This makes for fast and precise throttle control that isn’t susceptible to wear or stretching of the cable like it’s mechanical counterpart. This option is normally reserved for folks repowering from another brand engine or on new/ordered boats. If I were to order a new rig it would be DTS
