    Do the GT 54/56 Transducers read depth well when up on plane?

    Or is a separate 2D transducer needed for higher boat speed consistent depth reading?

    They will but needs to be mounted at bottom of transom at the pad. If that won't work on your particular boat then you can use the split ducer combo like the GT8/GT36 with Y cable.

    Much appreciated! I was just curious because they are so long, wondered if they create a rooster tail at speed. I’m upgrading my G1 Helix units to Garmin and they basically required a separate 2d sonar snd a splitter cable like you mentioned…
