Today must be my lucky day or something.

First off, I took 3rd in our local club tourney, So far, I've fished 2, and took 5th, and 3rd (not great, but better than I've ever done in successive events before).

Then when my truck didn't want to start @ the ramp, I was able to get it running by swapping some fuses around

But the big kicker is when I got home, I noticed I had used a lot more fuel than I should have, which seemed odd. When I looked under the hood to try and figure out why the truck didn't want to start, I found a braided steel fuel line that had slipped out of it's holder and rubbed against a hot wire off the battery long enough that the wire insulation was gone, and the fuel line was wet. I started the truck up, and sure enough the fuel line was literally spraying fuel in 2 different directions.


My butt is lucky it didn't catch fire going down the road, and now, it seems I know why I used so much fuel as well.

Question is which side of the tunnel do you want to buy it on???? I saw you this morning just getting off the bridge on the Suffolk side and then this afternoon I saw you just as you got out of the tunnel on the Newport News side.....

That must have been you with the triton and the gold chevy (I think it was gold - but I do know it was the same truck/boat this morning and this afternoon)....wait a minute...how do you know what I drive ?

And Levi, I'm not sure about the whole time, but I used every bit of 20 gals of diesel on the trip home (that's 250-300 miles normally)


It was a steady drip, about a 5 drops a second while idling, and if you revved it up, it sprayed all over.

It's fixed now.... nice to have spare braided stainless line ad the correct fitting laying around.

My daughter's S-10 Blazer did the same thing. It burnt to a crisp on the side of 64 up around Hampton Center Pkwy. as she was on her way back to school one Sunday evening. Truck died and she pulled over on the shoulder. She could smell it burning so she got all her stuff out and walked about 40 yds from it and "poof" it just went up in flames.

I never knew a windshield could melt....

Well, I know it only took 1/4 tank to go down there and back last time, and it took 1/2 tank this time

I had an old dodge ramcharger burn. When it caught on fire, I knew what it was, but had nothing to put it out with.

The old dodges used an open element resistor to give you 3 fan speeds. Well, I was using it on low, which is the hottest the resistor gets, and some leaves got down in the air intake for the fan and caught on fire. Once the plastic air box melted, the wiring caught and it got bad quick.

I pulled off the road at an auto parts place and ran inside to get something to put it out with. While I was inside, one of the employees filled the truck with that dry powder stuff. Well, it put it out, but it also trashed everything in the truck !!!


I didn't realize until then that the ex took my fire extinguishers out of the truck......
