We do a gift exchange at work and I am thinking about getting a co-worker a gallon of oil for his motor. Just not sure what to get. It is around a 2003-2007ish E-tec 225 H.O.
Thanks in advance.

Make sure it is a new, sealed container. I'm not sure about the recipient, but I wouldn't put anything I didn't buy in my E-tech, it's just too chancy. I'm sure your heart is in the right place, but oil is an engine's lifeblood.
i concur with billnorman.
get him some fishing gear instead.

Went with the suggestions. And went with the Ohio version of a A-rig. (3 wire) That xd-100 is some expensive stuff. I was thinking it would be around $25, not closer to $50.

Well done. I can't think of anyone not curious about Alabama rigs.

True, boat owners are reporting locally that they are buying from major stores, gallons of expensive boat motor oil that have already been purchased, emptied, filled with used motor oil and returned to store for credit. The store then unknowingly sells it (the used oil) as new.
A year or so ago I bought a 2 gallon container of Pennzoil synthetic at Wal-mart. I got it home and opened the lid and there was no paper seal on the container under the lid. I took it back. That was for my old Ficht Evinrude, which has since spit out a rod. Now with my E-tech HO I only use new jugs of Evinrude 100:1 or watch the marina store pump it out of a labeled barrel. It's just too chancy. I know there are some slimeballs that would stoop so low as to remove high dollar oil and substitute crud if given the opportunity.
