    Lost another Good Friend

Some of you have met my best friend Cody....he was an 11 year old Shepard, the leader of the pack, the best darn baseball retreiver there was. Wife and I thought his hips were bothering him for the last few days, well he went to the vet today for what we thought would be xrays on his hips, vet siad there was more to it than that. Cody had massive internal bleeding, from what I'm not sure. He stayed witht he vet as no operation could save him. Thats two of my dogs in a just a few weeks. There has to be a Special place for them as they may comfort someone else as they did us. Calm seas Cody....

Sorry for your losses Mike. Some dogs truly become man's best friend and some don't, sounds like your were blessed to have 2.

Re: Lost another Good Friend (Blue Steel)

    Cody was my buddy.

It was probably six years ago when I first met him and his playmates. We played ball a few times during that weekend, he was such a fun dog. I have never seen a dog so intense and "locked-on" to fetching a ball as Cody was. I was so impressed with his abilities and the intensity he displayed, I got him a can of tennis balls and shipped them to "Cody Allen". I'm sure when Mike saw that package, he thought "what the heck"!

You know...and I don't mean anything bad, but when my human friends cross the bridge, I get sad. When my furry friends leave this earth, I always shed a tear. With dogs, all they know is respect and "the pack order". They learn their bad traits from people, Cody didn't have any bad ones. He treated everyone as a friend. Some dogs need to get "used" to a stranger, but not Cody...just grab a ball and toss it and he'd be a friend for life.

Cody, for you, my friend... and a prayer that you get to meet my "misty" girl on the other side. She'd be a good friend for you.
