Re: any info on the perquimans (tuckerabbi)

If fishing below the Highway 17 Bypass Bridge I typically prefer to fish the west side of the river as there are some coves/areas with deeper water than I have been able to find on the east side, but I catch more fish year round north of the railroad bridge. The Cove Cr area as mentioned earlier also holds fish. Last time out was about a month ago with RedShad and we were only able to scrounge up a few small ones on white jig/pigs up river. If you are out around Suttons Cr it is always worth a shot, but it gets a lot of pressure. I also here a lot about people using a Firetiger color.

What is the water temp like over there now?

No offense but it was still to early for cove creek as they would have to cross a rather large flat to get in there but it is possible to catch a few hanging in there.

thanks guys. the water temp in the back of crks 61'. fish should be starting on bed. river was a bit cooler 58-59. the platform that had a diving board is camp cale the chowan baptist association church camp. if this wind dies i hope to get to that area. when fishinf that area do you bang the bank or move off. ive fished there before in years past. from what i remember it is shallow.

Not much fish in the main creeks (Suttons, Mill, Racoon). Fish the main river flats, cypress trees, off shore wood, etc. And a couple of the narrow ditches if you know where they are. The grass of old surrounding the Girl scout camp has never come back to the level it was in the late 80's/early 90's.

How is the grass now out on the main river.I remember the good old days out accross the river from the sliding board.Had some good days out there but the biggest fish I ever caught on the pq was in the river just up from the launch ramp by the police station.
