Is this the correct plugs? I thought they were $20 a piece?

Those are indeed IZFR6J spark plugs.... and substantially cheaper than we pay for them as dealers.

Of course.... they don't come with Mercury's One-Year Parts and Labor Warranty. Substantial savings, nonetheless.

First time mercury owner. ProXS 250 serial number 1B902716 and looking to replace plugs and need to know where to buy them. I looked them up online at Orielly and they do come up, but no where in the discription online does it say IZFR6J. I plugged the plug wire off today and it definately IZFR6J in them right now. Also afraid of stripping the threads. Have read and been warned by everyone...

    Brandon:

Those plugs can be purchased through numerous parts houses.... though plugs purchased from other sources do not come with the Mercury Parts and Accessories (1 year parts and labor) warranty.

New plugs must be gapped correctly, threaded into the head with a piece of fuel line (12" long recommended), and then torqued with a torque-wrench to 20 FT LBS.

More information on recommended maintenance can be found in the following posts:

Look around and can find them cheaper than that. I found a marina, in Florida going out of business and bought two box's for next to nothing.
