Ok, here's a question for everyone:

According to VA law (don't know about NC), you must have your throwable life preserver "out and accessible" while you're fishing.

How do each of you manage this, without having it blow out, or forgetting to get it out everytime you stop to fish?

I put it on my seat and sit on it while running...when I can remember to do so.

That's a good idea. I usually go with Pete's method.

Each Type IV throwable PFD must be immediately available. "Immediately available" means the PFD shall be quickly reachable in an emergency situation. An immediately available PFD cannot be in a protective covering, in a closed compartment or under other equipment.

    actually reads like this

Funny, PH and I were just discussing that day. Not what I'd call a fond memory.

I forget about it and plead ignorance due to the fact that I’m a stupid guy from NC. It's worked so far.

Yeah, that would be a memory I'd want to forget. Then some bastard would bring it up on the bulletin board again....
