Need help with a decision on a bed.

Those of you that know me, know that I have a bad back. It's gotten alot worse lately. I am to the point now, I need to do something to be able to move in the mornings and get some sleep at night. Staying high on meds is no way to live at 37!!! I will be going back to the Doc tomorrow for more X-Rays and advice that seems to always end up in more meds!

I bumped a post in the lounge about the "Sleep Number" beds in hopes for more info. Does anyone here have any input on these beds?

    Thanks Folks!

I wish I had some more information or a link but I don't. I remember seeing/hearing about a matress company that actualy brings you in and does a custom built matress just for you, it's done using electronic sensors in the test bed to measure and map pressure points and then they build the matress from that.

sorry I don't have any other info for ya.

I have found all kinds of info on the net, and have even tried one for about 5 minutes at the mall behind BPS in charlotte. Kinda wondering if anyone in here had first hand experience with one.

Jimmie, there was a post in the lounge about a month ago where the sleep number matresses were receiving very high praises. Shouldn't be too hard to pull it back up.

Sleep numbers are really good. Also the tempurpedics. Either one will cost ya, but for a bad back they're worth every penny.

We have a waveless water bed with two seperate heated bladders. Forms one bed but can be heated seperately as well as filled with different amounts of water for firmness. Im dont know how good it would be for your back but just a thought....

Thanks McMath! I have been through a couple of water beds and they just seem
to make my back worse. I have heard they help some folks, just don't seem to work for mine. My back has progressively gotten worse and it's to the point now the only way I can sleep is taking pills. I dont like that at all!

you could get one of those bed you put quarters in. That might do it.

Back trouble is tough. Some like it hot and some like it cold and some like it both ways. I have heard of some people putting a piece of plywood between the boxsprings and matress to help firm the bed.

Try just the pad before you but the mattress..I think the pad costed me a little over $100.00. The bed ended up being like $3000.00

I don't know what is wrong with your back but I broke L2,L3,L4,and L5 in a headon collission back in 1987 and have just recently found this mattress. I am 41 years old so I know how you feel about all the meds and stuff. IM me if you need anything else.
