Can someone please tell me the difference between the two? I've never seen a Rico other than on-line, but am interested why you'd spend $18 for one over the cost of a Pop-R.![]()

different sounds and action. i actually get a louder pop with a pop r and a more subtle sound with the Rico. Each has their place. Is this where we throw in the Yellow Magic to the mix?...![]()

Agreed ........![]()
OH MAN!!!! now you are talking my kind of bait...Rico's all the way for me...I have thrown them for years, but when I went to Ky Lake last year to fish ABA Nationals, it was evident the Rico was heads above a Pop-r, or a chug bug..I caught every fish on the Rico, my co anglers threw pop-r's and chugbugs without a single bite...I came in 16th place out of over 500 anglers..I to believe it's the action and the noise produced by the bait, along with it's smaller and sits just right in the water...I have caught so many fish on them I have a box full with the paint knocked completely off, I have pics at home with splash-it's down their throats...![]()

I have to say also, that the Rico's have not performed as well as the old trusty Pop-R. Some times, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.![]()
Now, the new Zell Rowland Pop-R, that's macDaddy!

Probably a smart choice![]()
Bill it is exactly what Rob said each bait has it's time and it's place....... and the value of a bait to you is gauged by you is it worth $22 to catch 2 more fish a week? or one more 5lber a year? i keep some of all the above in the boat but find myself with a pop-r in my hand as much as anything else.
I think that if I'm going to spend allot on a single lure, then i want to get one of those electrical lures the game and inland fisheries guys use. Oh, and a net too.![]()

I've found that a stick bait works real well too, as long as you light the fuse before casting it out.![]()
