    Maxxum mounting issues

So as you can see in the pictures, the bow of my boat has this odd profile. If I try to fit the base in the profile ot does not have solid contact to fiberglass all around. If I move it back I have I giant cavity between the sides, bad contact and it won't be level.

I'm open to all suggestions short of fiberglassing the profile to make it uniform, which I really don't want to do. Im new to this so I am assuming the base should make solid contact with the fiberglass everywhere to prevent stress cracks, which can absolutely see happening.

Perhaps you can find a piece of marine starboard cut to size to fill your gap and level off your installation area. The following company makes custom cuts. Maybe others do too. Just a thought.

You’ll have to use some shims to level the base up,where needed. Like LTF said, you can cut up some starboard to shim with or use large fender washers. The uneven base isn’t really an issue as long as you shim it to level,it will work just fine.

Your best bet is to go to a fiberglass shop and get them to either cut doe a portion of the raised surface or build up the low part of the deck. You can also go purchase a some acrylic board and build up the low part.

I figured a filler and then fiberglass it to be uniform was the best option. I want it to look good, already spent a lot of time and at least 5 gallons of resin and untold sq ft of mat to repair stringers and floors, I was hoping I was done with it. Didn't even think of this issue. This is just for cosmetics so I guess just filling the void with cuts and some tiger hair to make it uniform is the answer.
