Is there any place in the greater hampton roads, richmond area, or anywhere in the state of Va or northeastern NC that works on Johnson outboards? Ron Marine said he's backed up 3 weeks.

Ok guys every one of us has problems with the outboard sometime and it seem to be a big pain to find someone to get it to for repairs not only done but done quick.Well there is a place to take it that not only does great work but gets it in and out pretty quick. The name of the shop is Laquer Specialties in Norfolk The number for the shop is461-4568 (ask for. Just talk to John he is the owns the place and is a really nice guy. He is much cheaper than the dealers and does great work give him a call with any motor he works on them all. Good thing is he works on any size motor..
Sea Port is a Yamaha dealer Mike, but I believe they work on and service most outboards. They have always treated me well.

I believe Causeway Marine in Elizabeth City, NC works on Johnson. He has worked on my Evinrude and I have been satisfied. But he also tends to stay backed up.

All mentioned are good. In addition, I have a friend who is the best OMC guy I've ever met. He worked on my Johnson and Evinrude motors when I had them. His name is Ray Russell and he will come to you. I think he calls his biz Mobile Marine Service... 757-934-3013 If you decide to contact him, tell him I said hi....![]()
yep, what Lea said....Ray Russell...he is the best; you won't meet a nicer guy!![]()
And will not gouge you on cost...he left working for dealers to strike out on his own so he could give his customers excellent work for a reasonable price.....works out of his shop behind his house or on the road......lives very near to Rt 58 bypass, Wilroy Rd exit in Suffolk so easy to get too.

Thanks for all of your help. The only reason I didn't want to get a Johnson outboard was the service issue. I would of rather got a merc or yam. Its probably something simple wrong with it, but its so much that can go wrong with an outboard its hard to say.
