Can you or would you fish a shakey head with a bait casting rod/reel? I broke my spinning rod I normally use and have it set up for this weekend on a BC rod/reel (7' M F rod with 12lb line). What do you all think?

OK i will answer the question legitimately......
Gary i have a 6'9" Loomis Bronzeback seriers MH extra fast originally intended for light spinnerbaits that i have paired with a BPS ultralight baitcasting reel and 10lb Yo-Zuri hybrid and it works great. I use it with 1/4oz shakey head and any worm i so choose with little or no problems.
OTW. Do you cast it or flip/pitch with it? Casting will be no problem for me, flip/pitch will be an adventure. Also there is no way I would be able to skip it up under a dock.
Agreed under docks is an ordeal but it can be pitched very effectively. Can also learn to skip it with the baitcaster but it takes many many days of picking out backlashes to get a hold of it![]()

I have a 7'2" whackem stick with a big low profile 3x9x12 reel baitcaster....Lined with 80lb braid paired with stink bait spray (hybird deluxe)....kinda like golf irons and I dont know if it works.....I use it with a 1oz shakey head and a 7"x1mm worm dipped in a green dip that makes the tail turn green. The reason for the green tail is so the worm can have a chance when swimming with its azz in the air....Kinda hides in the green water so it gives the worm some comfort. Really adds to the performance of the bait.
Hope this helps you alot and gives Trick some new things to try.![]()
