Looking for info on Smith mountain lake area.

My wife and I took a trip to the lake last weekend and fell in love with it. We are thinking about relacating and this may be a good place. Can anyone tell me how the job market is down there? I have looked at a few homes online and you can get a great deal compaired to the northern Va erea that I am in. Just looking for more info on the place.

    Thanks,

Should be plenty of work near Roanoke. Not much for aviation mech though I looked into it a few years ago myself. Houses really aren't really that bad, but, probably wouldn't expect the wages to be as high as what they are up there in northern Va.

....no kidding man, jetskiers are BAD on Smith. Our last night tournament was 8pm until 8am and I counted well over 20 jetskis on the water before 8am and I was nowhere near the "busy" part of the lake.
