For those of us who still use basic marine batteries, which brand is most preferred. I have had luck with both, but I seem to remember reading something on here somewhere about "problems with Interstate". Cost is not the issue as both are very comparable for group 31 size.
As for the Everstart MAXX, it seems they are no longer available here in CA for some reason.

I haven't had good luck with Interstates but Everstarts have always worked great for me.

I've never run everstarts but interstates are the worst marine battery made. Of the dozen or so interstates I have owned, they all lasted only 6 to 18 months. I got so tired of warranty replacements I went Odyssey, and later Relion Lithium, with no issues again.
Another vote for Everstarts. I’ve always had good service with them. I also had three trolling batteries from O’Reillys that were great. I actually thought they were maintenance free and never serviced them. They were not. Still went over 5 years and I still believe then only failed when they did because they were empty.
Just say no to Interstate!
I've had great luck with AC Delco deep cycles.
Of the 2 , everstart for sure.
In the past, the Everstart and Interstate deep cycle batteries were identical, both manufactured by JCI (now Clarios) Some of the Walmarts in the US have recently switched to Deka/East Penn as their supplier, so the only way to tell is to visit your local store and see. If you are familiar with marine batteries, you will recognize the different cases and post positions between the two manufacturers..

I would go everstart just for the simple fact that there is a walmart around every corner if you have a problem with them
