94 johnson 200 hp venom inconsistent spark

I have a 94 johnson 200 hp venom I bought from a guy and it is brand new and never been ran. It sat as a display till now.. I put it on my boat switch had a mercury before, and when I tested spark it's not consistent at all. Starboard side get more spark then the port which is almost none. I'm wondering if my power pack has went bad. I wouldn't think it would be bad just from sitting. Everything looks as if just came from the factory.


It has 1 power pack.
the starboard side is better than the port but not good it will have skips in the spark. The port side will just spark ever now and then.
I'll have to get some off that stuff I have a volt meter and i can make jumpers.
I should mention all the boat wiring except for the controller is merc including the key switch. The controller didn't have a kill switch on it either

That may very well be your issue in the boat's wiring harness. How did you make the connection at the motor to the the boat using the big red plug?
