    Anybody have Cabela's Install Electronics?

Looking to have an expert install my EchoMap 93SV and Livescope units, to get optimum performance, and it seems all the marine service centers are booked out until June. They aren't taking appointments right now since they are so backed up. However, the Cabela's in Hoffman Estates IL said they could do the install within 2 weeks. Anybody use a Cabela's to rig their boat and were you satisfied? Thanks in advance !!

Actually, they can do a pretty good job. One of my buds keeps his boat at my place and he gets all of his work done there... electronics, motor and trailer. The guy that did his livescope has moved to a different employer but still does work for my friend on the side. I always look over what he's done and his installs are always pretty clean. Nothing fancy, but seems to always meet the manufacturers requirements.

I would think people who rig/service boats for a living would have far more expertise in this situation than somebody who spent 35+ years working in a hospital OR. But thanks for having confidence in me.

I wouldn't go that far. Pretty confident I can out do a professional installer. Will take me longer and cost more, no doubt and I couldn't make a dime doing it, but it'll be done mighty nice. There are a ton of guys here that do awesome work.

im sure it depends where you go however ive seen powerpoles and electronics come here that have been rigged by Cabelas/Bass Pro.. For the most part I would rather trust my 11 year old son. I seen a brand new nitro with 1/2 inch holes drilled in the transom for 5/16" powerpole lines to go thru,( cm 1.0) gelcoat was splintered as well from not knowing how to properly drill thru glass. ususalyy there is a experienced person.. or 2 there however they may not be doing it. I just had a buddy buy a boat from Bass pro the salesman told him there was never a need for more then 1 powerpole on the boat and he was a " tournament pro".
