I started with a 3 blade 25 tempest. That was what was on the 2 stroke. Picked up a tempest plus 23 pitch and as I break in, I only max top speed about a minute now that I’m into hours 3-10. The 23 pitch TP with all holes plugged is running 5850 rpm max to the floor, 62-65 mph. Once I’m above 10 hours, should I be trying to get more RPM and speed ?
PS I’m still learning the perfect hydraulic Jack plate setting too. But I think I have those set.
Jarod, I’m really happy with this combo. I got it specifically for bigger water fishing. LSC MI is my home waters. So far it seems to run over bigger waves and long runs without crushing the passengers vertebrae lol, or getting wet. I do loose screw checks frequently and so far so good. It’s heavy though. I don’t think it will ever do 70, but maybe the gents on this board can help me get there
I would have the motor flashed to a 300, then prop it!
